TLV to contain an explicit list of MAC addresses, most vendors (including Alcatel-Lucent) choose to use an empty list in the MAC- ush message. The main reason for this is to reduce the size of the LDP MAC- ush message. Otherwise, in a scaled network (where VPLS is usually used), the MAC-list TLV may contain thousands or more MAC addresses. At home versus on the road Your import process will likely be different when you re traveling working from a laptop computer than when you re at your main desktop workstation.
